Bluegrass United Boys' Soccer Team!

STEP 1: Both the player and parents must read the BU Boys' Soccer Fall 2022 Expectations Document. Players and parents must both agree to abide by all of the guidelines and expectations laid out within that document in order for you to be eligible to join the team. If you are unclear about any of the expectations, costs, commitments or other information laid out in either document, please ask for clarification prior to registering. We highly suggest printing this document for your own reference.

Fall 2022 Expectations

STEP 2: If you are in agreement with the documents after reading them, follow the links below to register for this year's soccer team. If you have not registered or otherwise contacted us within 48 hours, we will assume you are declining your position on the team and your roster spot may be offered to one of the players on our list of alternates. Registration will take place completely on-line and you do not need to return any hard copies of our forms. 

Register for the 2022 Team

STEP 3: Mail in your uniform fees by June 23rd. New players will pay $140 which covers a home jersey, away jersey and warm-up jersey  as well as two pairs of game socks and one pair of game shorts. All uniform fees are a one time expense. However, returning players may order replacements for anything they've lost, worn out, or outgrown. You may order replacements jerseys at the cost of $36 per jersey (either home, away, or warm-up). You may also order extra socks ($10 per pair) or shorts ($18 each). In addition, we will be placing an order for optional warm-up jackets. If you are interested in a warm-up jacket, the cost will be $80. Please indicate your player's jersey and shorts size (and/or jacket) size in the memo area of your check. All checks should be made payable to Bluegrass United Boys' Soccer.

STEP 4: For both returning and new players, the remainder of this season's fees are due by July 12th. This would be the registration fee of $200. Once again, all checks should be made payable to Bluegrass United Boys' Soccer and mailed to the above address. If this payment schedule is problematic for your family, please contact us directly so that we may work out an alternate payment schedule.


STEP 5: At least one member of your family must join our team's Band App so that you can receive important team information, access our team calendar, and get last minute updates. The app can be accessed from a computer, phone, or tablet. Returning players/parents, please make sure that you still have the app loaded and that you are signed in and receiving notifications if you turned them off in the off-season.


STEP 6: Team members are expected to prepare fitness wise for the upcoming season. Please click on the pre-season training goals below for more information.

Upcoming Soccer Activities

  • Our season will officially kick-off with our 9th Annual Soccer Challenge. It will take place on Tuesday, July 12th from 6-9pm at Shilito Park in Lexington. Parent volunteers will be needed.
  • A mandatory parents' meeting will take place on July 14th at 7:00 pm. At the same time, the players will have a mandatory team meeting, fitness testing and practice. All activities on this date will take place at Eastland Church of God, our home field.
  • Our mandatory annual team soccer camp will take place on Saturday, July 16th in Berea. It will be an all day event and it is very important for team members to attend. This is a drop off event for team members only.
  • Our Blue/White Scrimmage and team picnic will take place on Saturday, July 30th.
  • Our first game is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 4th.
  • During the summer, we will practice from 7-9pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and also on Saturday mornings from 10am-noon.  After Labor Day, we will move the weekday practices to an earlier time on the same evenings. Saturday's practice time will remain the same all season long.
  • Our team will play in two overnight tournaments this coming season. Those tournaments will take place the weekends of September 9th (varsity) and October 21st (varsity). The other tournaments our team will attend will be ones where it will be possible to commute daily.
  • On Saturday, August 6th both our jv and varsity team will be participating in homeschool team round robin in Cincinnati, OH. Plan for this to be an all day event. It is important that all players are available to play this day.
